Policies

By registering for lessons, you agree to the following policies:

Summary

The following list summarizes the most important policies to remember, but please read all of the following sections below in full.

Semester Tuition

Lessons are paid in advance, in groups: The Fall Semester (Sept–Jan, 17 weeks), The Spring Semester (Feb–June, 17 weeks), or the Summer Period (variable). Tuition covers weekly lessons except during breaks. No charge for break weeks is factored into tuition.

When registering for the Fall Semester, your registration and lesson time will automatically be carried over into the Spring Semester and Summer periods, if you're continuing during those times and upon payment.

During the Summer Period, scheduling is flexible. The student will select which weeks they want to have a lesson, and the bill is calculated accordingly and paid in advance.

Communication

All inquiries, including scheduling and billing, should be made to the studio director, except:

Registration

To register, simply pay the registration fee and semester tuition. As soon as you know your or your child's availability for a lesson time, please submit it to the director.

Lesson Time

Lesson times are considered fixed for the Fall and Spring semester. Although a request to change your lesson time during the school year is allowed, it cannot be guaranteed as it is subject to teacher availability. If you need to switch lesson times and your teacher isn't free at the new time, we'll try to place you with another teacher. No refunds can be given if your lesson time no longer works and an alternative time or teacher cannot be found.

Rescheduling and Make-up Lessons

If you can't make a lesson, once per semester you will be offered a make-up lesson, to be scheduled at the usual lesson time during the make-up week. To be eligible for make-up credit, you must cancel with 24 hours notice.

Safe Learning Environment

To maintain a safe and respectful environment for both students and teachers, the studio has a zero-tolerance policy for any form of misconduct, harassment, or inappropriate behavior.

If a teacher reports any such behavior—verbal, physical, or otherwise—the studio reserves the right to immediately terminate lessons with the student. In such cases, no refunds will be issued for unused lessons.

Withdrawal and Refunds

There are no refunds, partial or full, except for the following situations:

If you have a credit on your account and you are discounting lessons, please message the director to receive a refund.

Registration fees are non-refundable.

Payment

Invoices will be sent by email and can be paid by card. If you prefer, you may mail a check made out to 'Thomas Foster' to 16 Chauncy St, Cambridge, MA 02138, or hand it to the director (Thomas Foster) in person.
